Take Steps to Make 2022 a Healthier New Year

CarlyOur Naturopath Carly Gallagher shares her recommendations on ways you and your family can maximise your health this year.

I can’t believe it’s already February. January always comes and goes so fast, especially when kids are not back at school.

January has been a memorable one for many it seems. Everyone seems to have had Omicron. Wow… it hit fast, didn’t it?!

Luckily, this mild variant for many was over quickly. However, many of you have been in contact with me for support to assist with some lingering symptoms, such as headaches, vertigo, dry cough, and fatigue.

Those fortunate enough not to have had the virus also have been reaching out for immune support to prevent seasonal viruses for 2022.

The key observation I noticed was that most were not prepared for Omicron. Many people had stopped taking the Vitamin C, Zinc and Vit D they had previously been taking when the pandemic started in 2020 to support immune systems. Many were stuck stranded with none of these supplements at home and even struggled to obtain standard immune formulas in retail shops such as chemists. This was compounded by the fact they could not travel to shops to restock when infectious also. With no immune support, many felt a bit helpless and not able to better support themselves and the longevity and veracity of the virus.

Perhaps it’s because those who didn’t get sick initially in 2020 became a bit complacent. Then suddenly, this variant swept through and took some by surprise, leaving us high and dry with nothing on hand and no way of getting anything locally. Not to mention shelves stripped bare with stock issues.

So I have formulated and encouraged all my patients to have one of these preparations on hand. Either taking actively now, or taking it as an immune supporter, or just having one on hand in case of emergency!

“The best approach is to have a bottle on hand, as you never know when you will need it, and shipping is not overnight anymore as you know. Taking immediately after getting an infection ensures you can reduce the symptom severity and shorten the life cycle,” said Carly.

Note: These formulas are used for supporting immune systems for standard viral and bacterial infections and are not suggesting they prevent or cure covid or any other virus.
